What does an Event Stylist do?

We've been quiet for a while - sorry about that guys. We've been off making lots of plans for next year (which is nearly HERE! Can you believe it?!), and it's got us all riled up and ready to go! 

We cannot wait for 2019 - we have lots of weddings coming up and other events, too! Because we don't just do weddings - we party props to be used at all kinds of parties and bespoke styling packages for a variety of events, too.

Here, we're going to let you in on what goes in to the Styling element of Rock the Day...

Laura is our head Stylist - she's also a top-notch prosecco pusher, but that's by-the-by.

Laura has an incredible eye for design. I've honestly never seen her put together something that didn't make me say 'wow'. Most of the time she then takes it apart again and makes something even MORE wow-worthy, which just blows my mind even more.

The way we work with couples and with event planners is pretty similar - here's how it tends to go:

First, we meet at our studio. This is mostly to talk through concepts, ideas, event decor and to get to know one another - style is a very personal thing and we need anyone who works with us to have trust in us. We've found that the best way to quickly find out if we're on the same page is to meet in our Studio, surrounded by party decorations and go from there.

Remember, our services are bespoke - we can create any aesthetic that you want, and we think you'll be surprised when visiting our studio at out versatile our work has been!

If you already have your concept worked out and need us to help you bring it to life, or if you just know where and when and the rest is a mystery - we're here to help.

Next, we utilise every Stylist's favourite - Pinterest. Pinterest is a great way for us to understand what it is that you're hoping to create at your wedding or event. We'll ask you to compile a board of inspiration and then use it to create a sample (usually a table) of how we would create that for you.

If you love it, great - it's action stations from here! If it turns out that's not quite the mood you were expecting, then we can work with that to create something new. (By the way, Laura wouldn't like me saying this, but I can't even recall ONE time this has happened, she always nails the mood!)

Next is visiting the venue. Here, we create a more in depth plan - which allows us to finalise pricing. Speaking of, we take a 50% deposit to secure your booking and the balance six weeks before the event. If you change your mind along the way, that's no problem - we'll adjust your balance accordingly.

Once we've visited the venue and our design plans in place, we'll be in as much or as little contact as suits you until the event: If you've got enough on your plate and don't need anything but an email every now and then to update you on progress, that's what you'll get. If you're a worrier and you want to ask how things are coming along or be sent options to chose from along the way, that's also absolutely fine by us!

Often, of course, we work with our own party props, but if we are styling your event and you have a particular supplier you work with for flowers or for furniture hire, or whatever it may be, then we will happily worth with them to create the perfect finished look.

When it comes to the heavy lifting, we will set up and take down all that is part of our design - we take away any party props, etc, so you don't have to worry about a major end-of-night clean up!
